Domaine Jean Javillier has farmed in Meursault since 1933, when the estate was founded by Jacques Javillier. Now run by his son Jean and wife Christiane, the domaine has farmed organically since 1972 and holds the “Nature et Progrès” certification, working with minimal intervention across 7.5 hectares.
Les Petits Charrons is a village-level Meursault lieu-dit, made from Chardonnay and aged in old oak barrels for 12 to 14 months. The wine opens with ripe orchard fruit and a touch of toast, with the mineral, slightly ferruginous character typical of the Charrons area. The palate delivers a rounded, generous texture balanced by fresh acidity.
This is an approachable, well-priced Meursault built for near-term enjoyment rather than long cellaring — a genuine, food-friendly way to taste this benchmark appellation from a longstanding organic family estate.
A great option for dinner parties, gifting to a white Burgundy lover, or everyday drinking from a serious appellation.
