1991 Domaine Fourrier Griotte-Chambertin: Rare Grand Cru Cult Artifact
The 1991 Domaine Fourrier Griotte-Chambertin Grand Cru Rouge 750ml is an exceedingly scarce, library-aged collector artifact from Gevrey-Chambertin’s master. In particular, Griotte-Chambertin is one of the smallest and rarest Grands Crus in Burgundy, famous for its intense cherry perfume. In addition, over three decades of careful cellar aging have transformed this Pinot Noir into a study of mature tertiary complexity.
Tasting Notes for 1991 Domaine Fourrier Griotte-Chambertin
The wine opens with mature aromas of dried black cherry, sous-bois, dried rose petals, leather, and black truffle. Furthermore, nuanced notes of iron minerality, black tea, and warming spices unfold with aeration. On the palate, silky, fully resolved tannins frame a savory mid-palate of dried dark berries. Consequently, the finish lingers with noble Burgundian poise, earthy complexity, and enduring freshness.
