Description

Yvon Métras is widely considered the natural-wine reference point of Fleurie, often described as the unofficial fifth member of Beaujolais’ celebrated “Gang of Four” alongside Marcel Lapierre, Jean Foillard, Guy Breton, and Jean-Paul Thévenet. He took over his family’s estate at Grille-Midi and produced his first solo vintage in 1988, converting soon after to minimal- or no-sulfur winemaking.

Made using semi-carbonic maceration at low temperatures, the wine opens with perfumed, aromatic red fruit on the nose, with sweet cherries and hints of herbs and spice. The palate delivers the pale, transparent, violet-and-red-fruit character that defines the natural-wine style of Fleurie.

This is one of the most allocated, sought-after bottles in natural Beaujolais, prized by sommeliers and collectors for its purity and site expression. Its rarity and cult reputation make it a genuine find for serious cellars.

A compelling bottle for natural wine collectors, Beaujolais specialists, or anyone looking to add a cult natural wine estate to their cellar.
