Domaine Lucien Boillot et Fils, a 20-acre Volnay estate with Premier Cru holdings across Gevrey-Chambertin, Nuits-Saint-Georges, Pommard, Volnay and Puligny-Montrachet, separated out this variety from a Volnay parcel planted in 1958 to make a dry white wine that, by French law, cannot be labeled as Volnay Blanc.

Fermented and aged in stainless steel, the wine shows the textural richness and subtle spice Pinot Gris is known for, while retaining real freshness. It is a rare, distinctive white from a red wine appellation, and a fascinating curiosity for adventurous Burgundy drinkers.
