Francois Morente is a newly established, garagiste-scale vigneron based in Volnay, a former physics and chemistry teacher who released his first commercial vintage in 2022. His Hautes-Cotes de Beaune Rouge comes from a third of a hectare planted in 2014 at unusually high density, farmed by hand with horse-worked soil.
