Les Combettes is widely regarded as the apex Premier Cru in the Domaine Etienne Sauzet range, a neighbor of Batard-Montrachet where roughly 70% of the fruit comes from 60-year-old vines. The stony, well-drained soil filters water quickly, concentrating flavor in the small berries this old-vine parcel produces.
