2022 Comando G Vinos de Madrid Rumbo al Norte Tinto 750ml

Rumbo al Norte is Comando G’s most legendary single-vineyard Garnacha, from the project of Daniel Landi and Fernando Garcia that put Spain’s Sierra de Gredos mountains on the fine wine map. The 0.3-hectare, north-facing plot sits at 1,075 meters, planted in 1950, with vines growing so densely among granite boulders that even a horse cannot enter to farm it.

Yields barely reach 1,500 kg per hectare, and only around 1,000 bottles are produced each vintage. The result is a cool, high-altitude Garnacha of extraordinary precision and freshness, with the 2021 vintage having earned a perfect 100-point score from Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate.
