2013 Domaine Emmanuel Rouget Cros Parantoux: Mythic Vosne Magnum
The 2013 Domaine Emmanuel Rouget Vosne-Romanée Premier Cru Cros Parantoux Rouge 1.5L Magnum represents an elite, highly collectible summit of Burgundy fine wine. In particular, this mythic parcel perches high above Richebourg on cold, fractured limestone bedrock, planted by the legendary Henri Jayer. In addition, the cool and late 2013 harvest produced fruit of immense mineral tension, vibrant natural acidity, and noble cellar stamina in large format.
Tasting Notes for 2013 Emmanuel Rouget Cros Parantoux
The wine opens with captivating aromas of ripe red cherry, wild raspberry, dried violets, and Asian spices. Furthermore, subtle hints of forest floor, black tea, and crushed limestone emerge gracefully with decanting. On the palate, cashmere-like tannins frame a vibrant core of wild red berries. Consequently, the finish lingers with remarkable poise, lingering floral lift, and aristocratic composure.

Estate History and Heritage
Cros Parantoux was famously blasted out of frozen limestone cliffs by Henri Jayer after World War II, becoming Burgundy’s most legendary Premier Cru. Specifically, Emmanuel Rouget inherited the vineyard from his uncle Henri Jayer, preserving the exact cold maceration and 100% new oak practices. Moreover, Cros Parantoux is widely considered equal to the greatest Grands Crus in Burgundy.
Today, Rouget’s Cros Parantoux magnums are among the rarest vinous treasures on earth. As a result, this 2013 magnum stands as an irreplaceable crown jewel for serious fine wine collectors.
