Description

2011 Querciabella Camartina: Aristocratic Super Tuscan Magnum

The 2011 Querciabella Camartina IGT Toscana Rosso 1.5L Magnum stands as an elite benchmark of high-altitude Chianti Classico terroir. In particular, this flagship cuvée combines Cabernet Sauvignon and Sangiovese cultivated biodynamically in Greve in Chianti. In addition, the large-format magnum allows for slow, harmonious bottle evolution, preserving aromatic vitality and complex depth.

Tasting Notes for 2011 Querciabella Camartina

The wine opens with commanding aromas of ripe blackcurrant, dark cherry, sweet pipe tobacco, graphite, and dried violets. Furthermore, nuanced notes of rosemary, dark cocoa, and polished cedar emerge gracefully with decanting. On the palate, fine-grained tannins frame a core of vibrant dark fruit and savory minerality. Consequently, the finish lingers with profound balance, fresh acidity, and enduring Tuscan poise.

Estate History and Heritage

Querciabella was founded in 1974 by entrepreneur Giuseppe Castiglioni with a visionary ambition for Tuscan viticulture. Specifically, the estate converted completely to organic farming in 1988 before adopting strict, plant-based biodynamic practices in 2000. Moreover, Camartina established itself among Italy’s first cult Super Tuscans crafted with uncompromising precision.

Today, Sebastiano Cossia Castiglioni directs the property with absolute devotion to environmental stewardship. As a result, this 2011 Camartina magnum represents an extraordinary masterclass in balanced, sustainable fine winemaking.
