2011 Domaine Jean-Michel Gerin La Landonne: Cult Côte-Rôtie Rarity
The 2011 Domaine Jean-Michel Gerin La Landonne Côte-Rôtie Rouge 750ml stands as an aristocratic collector monument from the Northern Rhône’s most sacred terroir. In particular, La Landonne occupies steep iron- and clay-rich schist terraces in the Côte Brune, yielding Syrah of monumental density. In addition, over a decade of bottle age has brought tremendous tertiary complexity while preserving vibrant structural cut.
Tasting Notes for 2011 Domaine Jean-Michel Gerin La Landonne
The wine opens with commanding aromas of ripe blackberry, cassis, smoked bacon, cracked black pepper, and violets. Furthermore, complex hints of espresso bean, black olive tapenade, and crushed graphite develop with decanting. On the palate, muscular yet fine-grained tannins frame a dense core of dark fruit. Consequently, the finish lingers with profound savory length, stony tension, and noble composure.

Estate History and Heritage
Domaine Jean-Michel Gerin was founded in 1983 in Ampuis by visionary vigneron Jean-Michel Gerin. Specifically, he was among the pioneers who restored steep, historic terraces across the appellation. Moreover, he championed parcel-specific vinification to showcase the unique mica-schist soils of the region.
Today, his sons Michaël and Alexis bring modern precision to the cellar while honoring family heritage. As a result, La Landonne stands universally recognized as one of the benchmark Syrahs in the world.
