2010 Domaine de la Grange des Pères Rouge: Mythical Languedoc Cult Icon
The 2010 Domaine de la Grange des Pères Hérault Rouge 750ml stands as an immortal, 100-point benchmark from an acclaimed, structured vintage. In particular, the late Laurent Vaillé blended Syrah, Mourvèdre, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Counoise grown on high-altitude limestone scree in Aniane. In addition, the cool, late-harvest 2010 growing season yielded wines of razor-sharp aromatic definition, energetic acidity, and transparent terroir expressiveness.
Tasting Notes for 2010 Domaine de la Grange des Pères Rouge
The wine opens with a profound, hypnotic bouquet of blackberry liqueur, black olive tapenade, smoked bacon fat, and crushed limestone. Furthermore, complex layers of garrigue herbs, leather, truffled earth, wild rosemary, and black pepper blossom with incredible intensity. On the palate, a velvety, full-bodied core of dark fruit is framed by mature, fine-grained tannins and vibrant stony tension. Consequently, the finish persists for over a minute with savory purity, earthen authority, and majestic poise.

Estate History and Heritage
Laurent Vaillé established Domaine de la Grange des Pères in 1992 after training alongside icons Jean-François Coche-Dury, Gérard Chave, and Éloi Dürrbach. Specifically, Vaillé cleared isolated hillside parcels with dynamite, planting pristine massale cuttings to forge a wine that effortlessly rivals the greatest Hermitage and Grand Cru Burgundy. Moreover, his non-interventionist cellar regime created wines of profound longevity.
Today, the 2010 Grange des Pères is universally celebrated as one of the greatest red wines ever produced in Southern France. As a result, this bottle represents an essential cornerstone for serious cellars.
