2010 Château Talbot: Classic Saint-Julien Fourth Growth Magnum
The 2010 Château Talbot Saint-Julien Rouge 1.5L Magnum captures the aristocratic structure and density of Bordeaux’s Left Bank. In particular, this historic fourth-growth estate sits on deep gravel mounds that provide perfect drainage for Cabernet Sauvignon. In addition, the legendary 2010 Bordeaux harvest produced wines of monumental structural power, ripe tannins, and multi-decade ageworthiness.
Tasting Notes for 2010 Château Talbot
The wine opens with commanding aromas of crème de cassis, dark plum, cedar chest, graphite, and dried violets. Furthermore, nuanced notes of tobacco leaf, espresso bean, and forest floor unfold with aeration in the magnum format. On the palate, muscular, fine-grained tannins frame a dense core of black fruit and savory minerality. Consequently, the finish lingers with extraordinary length, Left Bank grip, and noble Saint-Julien poise.

Estate History and Heritage
Château Talbot takes its noble name from John Talbot, the famous English military commander and Earl of Shrewsbury who died at the Battle of Castillon in 1453. Specifically, the Cordier family acquired the estate in 1918, elevating it into one of Saint-Julien’s most consistent and beloved classified growths. Moreover, modern investments in optical sorting have brought immense purity to the Grand Vin.
Today, the estate remains in the hands of the Cordier descendants, producing classical Médoc fine wine. As a result, this 2010 magnum represents an essential acquisition for Bordeaux collectors.
