2007 Domaine de la Janasse Cuvée XXL: 100-Point Châteauneuf Power
The 2007 Domaine de la Janasse Cuvée XXL Châteauneuf-du-Pape Rouge 750ml is a mythic, 100-point cult wine of colossal depth and concentration. In particular, this rare cuvée is crafted predominantly from ancient centenary Grenache vines planted in the pebbly soils of Courthézon. In addition, the solar and legendary 2007 harvest yielded immense fruit concentration, velvety tannins, and decades of cellar life.
Tasting Notes for 2007 Janasse Cuvée XXL
The wine opens with profound aromas of black cherry liqueur, wild raspberry, kirsch, lavender, and exotic spices. Furthermore, complex accents of dark cocoa, garrigue herbs, and crushed stones reveal themselves with decanting. On the palate, decadent, unctuous tannins cushion a massively concentrated core of red and dark fruit. Consequently, the finish lingers with breathtaking persistence, warming spice, and noble Mediterranean composure.

Estate History and Heritage
Domaine de la Janasse was established in 1973 by Aimé Sabon in Courthézon, becoming an elite powerhouse of the Southern Rhône. Specifically, Christophe and Isabelle Sabon took the estate to global fame with their parcel-specific, low-yield philosophy. Moreover, Cuvée XXL is produced only in monumental vintages from an ultra-tiny parcel.
Today, this scarce bottling is among the most fiercely pursued collectibles in the southern Rhône Valley. As a result, this 2007 vintage represents an unforgettable tour-de-force of pure centenary Grenache power.
