2004 Querciabella Camartina: Iconic Tuscan Double Magnum
The 2004 Querciabella Camartina IGT Toscana Rosso 3L Double Magnum (Jeroboam) is a collector treasure from an all-time great Italian harvest. In particular, the high-elevation slopes of Greve in Chianti provide the perfect diurnal shifts for late-ripening Cabernet Sauvignon. In addition, the celebrated 2004 vintage produced wines of monumental structural symmetry, refined fruit, and decades-long cellar resilience in large format.
Tasting Notes for 2004 Querciabella Camartina
The wine opens with mature, complex aromas of black cherry compote, crème de cassis, cigar box, leather, and dried herbs. Furthermore, tertiary hints of black truffle, dark chocolate, and balsamic scrub evolve with patient aeration. On the palate, silky, fully integrated tannins cushion a savory core of mature dark berries and forest floor. Consequently, the finish lingers with haunting length, refreshing acidity, and noble Tuscan composure.

Estate History and Heritage
Querciabella transformed the viticultural landscape of Chianti Classico under the visionary leadership of the Castiglioni family. Specifically, Camartina was created in 1981 to showcase how Bordeaux varieties could harmoniously marry high-altitude Tuscan terroir. Moreover, the estate was among the first in Italy to completely abandon animal-derived agricultural products in favor of vegan biodynamics.
Today, Querciabella’s older library releases command universal admiration from international fine wine collectors. As a result, this 3-liter Jeroboam stands as a monumental historical achievement of Tuscan elegance.
