Description

2005 Bibi Graetz Colore: Cult Old-Vine Tuscan Masterpiece Magnum

The 2005 Bibi Graetz Colore IGT Toscana Rosso 1.5L Magnum is an exceedingly scarce, iconic cult wine crafted with raw artistic passion. In particular, Colore is produced from ancient, centenary bush vines of Sangiovese, Canaiolo, and Colorino overlooking Florence. In addition, the classic 2005 vintage yielded extraordinary balance, refined aromatics, and long-term cellar endurance in large format.

Tasting Notes for 2005 Bibi Graetz Colore

The wine opens with mature aromas of black cherry compote, wild blackberry, leather, tobacco leaf, and dried violets. Furthermore, nuanced notes of dark chocolate, eucalyptus, and warm forest earth evolve with aeration. On the palate, velvety, fully resolved tannins wrap around a savory core of mature dark fruits. Consequently, the finish lingers with profound warmth, balsamic freshness, and noble Tuscan poise.

Estate History and Heritage

Bibi Graetz, a classically trained artist born into a family of sculptors, founded his winery in 2000 at the Castello di Vincigliata. Specifically, Bibi rejected international varieties in favor of hunting down forgotten, centenary vineyards across Tuscany. Moreover, he vinifies each micro-parcel in open-top barriques with manual punch-downs and paints every label himself.

Today, Colore is universally recognized among the most iconic cult wines in Italy. As a result, this mature 2005 magnum serves as a historic showcase of old-vine Tuscan brilliance.
