2004 Jean-François Ganevat Les Vignes de mon Père: Mythic Jura Icon
The 2004 Jean-François Ganevat Les Vignes de mon Père Côtes du Jura Blanc 750ml is an undisputed 100-point cult monument of natural winemaking. In particular, this cuvée comes from centenary Savagnin vines planted on blue marl and aged for an astonishing 130 months in topped-up casks. In addition, the 2004 vintage yielded sublime structural harmony, razor-sharp acidity, and immortal cellar resilience.
Tasting Notes for 2004 Ganevat Les Vignes de mon Père
The wine opens with hypnotic aromas of candied citrus peel, quince, beeswax, chamomile, and crushed schist. Furthermore, complex tertiary notes of ginger, dried apricot, honeyed nuts, and wet river stones unfold with aeration. On the palate, an expansive, phenolic texture is pierced by a laser-like spine of mineral acidity. Consequently, the finish lingers with extraordinary length, saline grip, and noble, dry extract.

Estate History and Heritage
The Ganevat family has farmed vineyards in the southern Jura village of Rotalier since 1650. Specifically, Jean-François “Fanfan” Ganevat aged this flagship cuvée for over a decade in wood without sulfur, proving that unfortified Savagnin could achieve Grand Cru greatness. Moreover, it became the first Jura wine to ever receive a perfect 100-point score.
Today, Les Vignes de mon Père is among the most revered and elusive vinous treasures in the world. As a result, this 2004 release serves as an essential centerpiece for any world-class collection.
