2011 Stéphane Ogier La Belle Hélène: Monumental Côte-Rôtie Magnum
The 2011 Stéphane Ogier La Belle Hélène Côte-Rôtie Rouge 1.5L Magnum represents an elite, single-vineyard Northern Rhône powerhouse. In particular, this flagship cuvée comes from ancient old vines in the Côte Rozier, planted on sheer mica-schist slopes. In addition, the disciplined 2011 harvest produced fruit of immense structural tension, vibrant acidity, and noble cellar longevity in large format.
Tasting Notes for 2011 Stéphane Ogier La Belle Hélène
The wine opens with commanding aromas of ripe blackberry, crème de cassis, smoked bacon, cracked black pepper, and violets. Furthermore, complex hints of espresso bean, black olive tapenade, and crushed graphite unfold with decanting. On the palate, muscular, fine-grained tannins frame a dense, velvet-like core of dark fruit. Consequently, the finish lingers with immense length, savory tension, and aristocratic Northern Rhône poise.

Estate History and Heritage
Domaine Stéphane Ogier represents generations of vignerons in Ampuis, elevated to global prominence by Stéphane Ogier. Specifically, Stéphane studied in Burgundy before returning to Côte-Rôtie, applying Burgundian parcel precision to ancient Syrah terraces. Moreover, La Belle Hélène was named in honor of Stéphane’s mother, crafted only from the oldest schist parcels.
Today, Ogier is widely recognized among the greatest modern winemakers in the Rhône Valley. As a result, this 2011 magnum stands as a monumental acquisition for serious fine wine connoisseurs.
