2017 Roses de Jeanne La Bolorée: Rare Pinot Blanc Cult Champagne
The 2017 Roses de Jeanne La Bolorée Blanc de Blancs 750ml is an exceedingly scarce, mythical grower Champagne crafted by Cédric Bouchard. In particular, this single-parcel cuvée comes from a tiny 0.2-hectare parcel of rare Pinot Blanc vines planted in 1960 on chalk-dense soils in Celles-sur-Ource. In addition, the 2017 vintage produced fruit of tremendous aromatic clarity, electric natural acidity, and delicate vinous texture.
Tasting Notes for 2017 Roses de Jeanne La Bolorée
The wine opens with enchanting aromas of white peach, lemon blossom, green pear, crushed chalk, and pulverized limestone. Furthermore, delicate accents of chamomile, white anise, and sea salt develop through the micro-fine bead. On the palate, a crystalline, zero-dosage spine of acidity drives through an expansive, vinous mid-palate. Consequently, the finish lingers with intense saline length, chalky grip, and remarkable poise.

Estate History and Heritage
Cédric Bouchard revolutionized Champagne when he founded Roses de Jeanne in 2000 under the philosophy of “single vineyard, single variety, single vintage, zero dosage.” Specifically, La Bolorée proved to the world that ancient Pinot Blanc could produce Champagne rivaling the greatest Grand Cru Chardonnays. Moreover, production is strictly limited to only a few hundred bottles per year.
Today, Bouchard’s micro-production wines command global cult worship among sommeliers and collectors. As a result, La Bolorée stands as an irreplaceable benchmark of pure artisan viticulture.
