The 2004 Domaine de la Grange des Pères Hérault Rouge 750ml is an iconic cult wine representing the absolute zenith of southern French fine wine. In addition, the classic and cooler 2004 vintage provided cool nights and steady warmth, yielding sublime structural harmony and longevity.
Tasting Notes for 2004 Domaine de la Grange des Pères
The wine opens with captivating aromas of ripe blackberry, wild rosemary, black olive, leather, and crushed stone. Furthermore, complex hints of smoked game, dark chocolate, and balsamic herbs expand in the glass. On the palate, velvety, fine-grained tannins cushion a powerful mid-palate of dark bramble berries. Consequently, the finish lingers with extraordinary length, savory tension, and noble Mediterranean poise.

Estate History and Heritage
Domaine de la Grange des Pères was founded in 1989 by the late, legendary vigneron Laurent Vaillé. Specifically, Laurent studied under winemaking masters like Jean-François Coche-Dury, Gérard Chave, and Éloi Dürrbach before returning to Aniane. Moreover, he blasted ancient limestone bedrock to plant his dream vineyard.
Today, following Laurent’s tragic passing, bottles from Grange des Pères are among the most revered vinous treasures in France. As a result, this 2004 vintage stands as an everlasting monument to his winemaking genius.
