2010 Domaine Tempier Cabassaou: Legendary Single-Vineyard Bandol Magnum
The 2010 Domaine Tempier Cabassaou Bandol Rouge 1.5L Magnum is a collector masterpiece that highlights the singular longevity of Mourvèdre. In particular, the Cabassaou parcel rests in a sheltered amphitheater with deep limestone soils that nourish ancient vines. In addition, the legendary 2010 harvest delivered remarkable aromatic lift, fine-grained tannins, and vibrant natural freshness in large format.
Tasting Notes for 2010 Domaine Tempier Cabassaou
The wine opens with deep aromas of ripe blackberry, dark plum, black olive, wild thyme, and smoked meats. Furthermore, nuanced notes of licorice root, dark chocolate, and iron-rich minerality develop with decanting. On the palate, dense, velvety tannins wrap around a deeply concentrated core of savory dark fruits. Consequently, the finish lingers with profound length, warming spice, and noble rustic poise.

Estate History and Heritage
Domaine Tempier is universally acknowledged as the undisputed spiritual heart of Bandol. Specifically, Lucien Peyraud and his wife Lulu championed the official recognition of the Bandol appellation in the 1940s. Moreover, Tempier was among the earliest estates in France to bottle single-vineyard terroirs separately.
Today, the Peyraud family continues their biodynamic viticulture and traditional large foudre aging. As a result, Cabassaou magnums remain among the most coveted, age-worthy red wines crafted in southern France.
