2003 Tenuta Argentiera Bolgheri Superiore: Coastal Tuscan Magnum
The 2003 Tenuta Argentiera Argentiera Bolgheri Superiore Rouge 1.5L Magnum stands as an iconic, mature Super Tuscan of monumental depth. In particular, the estate’s high-altitude vineyards directly overlook the Tyrrhenian Sea, benefiting from mineral-rich soils and cooling breezes. In addition, the solar 2003 harvest produced plush, velvety tannins and deep fruit concentration that has evolved beautifully in large format.
Tasting Notes for 2003 Tenuta Argentiera Bolgheri Superiore
The wine opens with mature aromas of blackcurrant, dark plum, cedarwood, cigar box, and dried Mediterranean scrub. Furthermore, complex secondary notes of dark chocolate, leather, and eucalyptus evolve gracefully in the decanter. On the palate, silky, fully integrated tannins support a concentrated core of savory dark fruits. Consequently, the finish lingers with profound warmth, balsamic freshness, and noble poise.

Estate History and Heritage
Tenuta Argentiera occupies the southernmost corner of the prestigious Bolgheri appellation, once part of the historic Donoratico estate. Specifically, the property takes its name from ancient silver mines that operated across these hills centuries ago. Moreover, the estate was completely revitalized in the late 1990s to produce world-class Bordeaux-style blends.
Today, Argentiera is recognized alongside the region’s elite estates for crafting wines of remarkable finesse. As a result, this 2003 library magnum demonstrates the timeless endurance of mature Bolgheri terroir.
