2010 Domaine Tempier Migoua: High-Altitude Bandol Magnum

The 2010 Domaine Tempier Migoua Bandol Rouge 1.5L Magnum represents a pinnacle of wild Provençal complexity and structure. In particular, the La Migoua parcel sits on high, windswept slopes composed of complex limestone, clay, and blue marl soils. In addition, the legendary 2010 harvest delivered remarkable natural acidity, intense aromatic cut, and profound longevity.

Tasting Notes for 2010 Domaine Tempier Migoua

The wine opens with captivating aromas of wild blackberry, blood orange zest, leather, black olive tapenade, and dried garrigue herbs. Furthermore, nuanced notes of iron minerality, game, and crushed stones evolve with aeration. On the palate, fine, chalky tannins wrap around a vibrant core of dark fruit and savory earth. Consequently, the finish lingers with mouthwatering freshness, rustic nobility, and enduring poise.

Estate History and Heritage

Domaine Tempier has served as the spiritual torchbearer of Bandol since Lucien and Lulu Peyraud revitalized the property in 1941. Specifically, Lucien isolated the La Migoua vineyard to showcase how higher elevations and wilder soil profiles yielded singular terroir expression. Moreover, the estate ages all its red wines in large neutral oak foudres.

Today, the Peyraud family remains committed to biodynamic viticulture and non-interventionist winemaking. As a result, this 2010 Migoua magnum stands as a monumental library treasure of authentic Provençal history.
