2000 Domaine de Trévallon: Millennium Vintage Cult Icon
The 2000 Domaine de Trévallon Rouge IGP Alpilles 750ml is a legendary, library-aged treasure from a milestone vintage. In particular, the estate’s rocky limestone amphitheater allows equal parts Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah to develop extraordinary structural harmony. In addition, over two decades of patient cellar aging have softened its muscular tannins into a tapestry of complex tertiary elegance.
Tasting Notes for 2000 Domaine de Trévallon
The wine opens with mature tertiary aromas of dried blackcurrant, leather, cigar box, wild garrigue herbs, and black truffle. Furthermore, delicate hints of smoked meat, sous-bois, and dark chocolate emerge with patient aeration. On the palate, silky, resolved tannins frame a savory core of mature dark fruits and warm earth. Consequently, the finish lingers with noble harmony, savory minerality, and haunting Provençal grace.

Estate History and Heritage
Domaine de Trévallon was founded in 1973 by Éloi Dürrbach, who recognized the world-class fine wine potential of the Alpilles mountains. Specifically, Éloi insisted on blending Cabernet Sauvignon with Syrah in defiance of the local appellation, voluntarily declassifying his wine to Vin de Pays. Moreover, his uncompromising vision earned the estate global cult acclaim.
Today, Trévallon remains an untouchable reference point for authentic, unmanipulated fine wine. As a result, this mature 2000 vintage represents an invaluable historical artifact for connoisseurs of southern French icons.
