2008 Domaine Tempier Tourtine: Classic Cool-Vintage Mourvèdre Finesse
The 2008 Domaine Tempier Tourtine Bandol Rouge 750ml offers collectors a beautifully poised and classical expression of Bandol. In particular, the high-elevation limestone soils of La Tourtine preserve lively natural acidity and structural grip. In addition, the classic, cooler 2008 vintage allowed the grapes to develop sublime aromatic complexity and refined tannins.
Tasting Notes for 2008 Domaine Tempier Tourtine
The wine opens with mature aromas of dried blackberry, leather, wild rosemary, black olive, and cedarwood. Furthermore, delicate notes of dark chocolate, cured meats, and iron minerality unfold with aeration. On the palate, silky, fully integrated tannins support a savory core of dried dark berries. Consequently, the finish lingers with refreshing acidity, stony minerality, and noble rustic grace.

Estate History and Heritage
Domaine Tempier is universally acknowledged as the spiritual standard-bearer of fine Provençal winemaking. Specifically, Lucien and Lulu Peyraud dedicated their lives to establishing Bandol as an elite, world-class appellation. Moreover, their single-vineyard bottlings demonstrated the extraordinary terroir potential of Mourvèdre.
Today, the estate continues its biodynamic viticulture and traditional large foudre aging under the Peyraud family. As a result, this mature 2008 Tourtine represents an authentic, aristocratic portrait of Bandol history.
