2018 Leclerc Briant Abyss: Subsea-Aged Brut Zéro Innovation
The 2018 Leclerc Briant Abyss Brut Zéro Champagne Blanc 750ml is an extraordinary, avant-garde cuvée aged on the ocean floor. In particular, after traditional cellar aging, these bottles were submerged 60 meters deep off the coast of Brittany for one year. In addition, the dynamic 2018 vintage provided rich, ripe fruit that harmonizes with zero-dosage oceanic tension.
Tasting Notes for 2018 Leclerc Briant Abyss
The wine opens with fascinating aromas of green apple, lemon peel, sea spray, oyster shell, and white flowers. Furthermore, complex accents of iodine, fresh brioche, and crushed chalk emerge through the energetic bead. On the palate, a laser-sharp, zero-dosage spine of acidity drives through a mineral-dense mid-palate. Consequently, the finish lingers with profound salinity, crystalline freshness, and unique maritime energy.

Estate History and Heritage
Champagne Leclerc Briant was founded in 1872 and became an early pioneer of organic and biodynamic viticulture in the 1960s. Specifically, the house was revitalized in 2012 by Mark Nunnely and Denise Dupré alongside visionary Chef de Cave Hervé Jestin. Moreover, Jestin implemented biodynamic vinification techniques aimed at channeling cosmic and natural energy.
Today, Leclerc Briant is recognized as one of Champagne’s most daring and philosophically pure houses. As a result, Abyss represents an unforgettable union of terrestrial biodynamics and oceanic maturation.
