2007 Château L’Évangile: Pomerol Plateau Velvet and Opulence
The 2007 Château L’Évangile Pomerol Rouge 750ml exemplifies the lush, velvety luxury of Bordeaux’s Right Bank plateau. In particular, the property shares prime iron-rich clay and gravel boundaries with Château Pétrus and Cheval Blanc. In addition, the charming 2007 vintage produced wines of immediate aromatic generosity, supple tannins, and drinking pleasure.
Tasting Notes for 2007 Château L’Évangile
The wine opens with seductive aromas of ripe black plum, black cherry liqueur, cocoa powder, and dried violets. Furthermore, delicate tertiary layers of black truffle, forest floor, and toasted spice emerge with aeration. On the palate, plush, cashmere-like tannins coat the mouth with rich dark fruit and creamy chocolate notes. Consequently, the finish lingers with remarkable softness, gentle warmth, and classic Pomerol poise.

Estate History and Heritage
Château L’Évangile traces its origins to the mid-18th century under the founding stewardship of the Léglise family. Specifically, the estate entered a golden era following its acquisition by Domaines Barons de Rothschild (Château Lafite Rothschild) in 1990. Moreover, Rothschild invested heavily in vineyard replanting and modern cellar facilities to maximize terroir expression.
Today, L’Évangile remains one of the premier estates atop the Pomerol plateau. As a result, this mature 2007 vintage offers collectors a pristine snapshot of Right Bank sophistication.
