1994 Mastrojanni Brunello di Montalcino: Historic Tuscan Pedigree
The 1994 Mastrojanni Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 750ml is a rare, library-aged treasure from the warm southern slopes of Castelnuovo dell’Abate. In particular, Mastrojanni’s rocky, mineral-rich soils endow Sangiovese Grosso with monumental depth and historic cellar endurance. In addition, over three decades of careful cellar aging have woven its fruit and tannins into a tapestry of complex tertiary beauty.
Tasting Notes for 1994 Mastrojanni Brunello di Montalcino
The wine opens with mature aromas of dried sour cherry, leather, tobacco leaf, potpourri, and aged balsamic. Furthermore, lingering nuances of forest floor, iron minerality, and black truffle emerge with patient aeration. On the palate, silky, resolved tannins support a savory core of dried red fruit and warm earth. Consequently, the finish lingers with noble harmony, mouthwatering acidity, and classic Brunello composure.

Estate History and Heritage
Mastrojanni was founded in 1975 when Rome lawyer Gabriele Mastrojanni purchased the San Pio estate in Castelnuovo dell’Abate. Specifically, he was among the earliest pioneers to recognize the exceptional potential of Montalcino’s southern reaches. Moreover, the estate has steadfastly preserved traditional winemaking, aging exclusively in large neutral oak casks.
Today, Mastrojanni remains one of the most respected traditionalist icons in all of Tuscany. As a result, this rare 1994 vintage serves as an authentic testament to the enduring nobility of Montalcino terroir.
