1994 Château Mouton Rothschild Description
1994 Château Mouton Rothschild 750ml is a mature and collectible First Growth Bordeaux from Pauillac. This vintage combines Château Mouton Rothschild’s historic prestige, classic Left Bank structure, decades of bottle age, and the estate’s celebrated artist-label tradition.
The 1994 Château Mouton Rothschild was produced from 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Franc, and 2% Petit Verdot. Cabernet Sauvignon provides structure, dark fruit, cedar, and aging potential. Merlot contributes roundness, while Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot add aromatic complexity, spice, and depth.
Harvest took place from September 19 through October 1, 1994. Despite rain during September, the grapes remained healthy and fully ripe, producing a wine with deep color, balance, supple texture, and long aromatic persistence.

1994 Karel Appel Artist Label
The 1994 Château Mouton Rothschild label was created by Dutch artist Karel Appel. His colorful, expressive artwork adds another layer of collector appeal to this vintage.
Château Mouton Rothschild’s artist-label tradition is one of the estate’s most distinctive features. As a result, bottles are collected not only for the wine itself but also for the artwork associated with each vintage.
Why Collectors Want 1994 Château Mouton Rothschild
1994 Château Mouton Rothschild combines First Growth status, mature Pauillac character, an important Bordeaux vintage, and a distinctive Karel Appel artist label.
With more than three decades of bottle age, mature examples can show developed notes of leather, cedar, earth, floral tones, dried fruit, and softened tannins.
This bottle is especially attractive for buyers searching for vintage Mouton Rothschild, 1994 Bordeaux, mature Pauillac, First Growth Bordeaux, Karel Appel wine labels, and collectible French wine.
Serving Recommendation
Serve around 60–65°F. Stand the bottle upright before opening so sediment can settle. Open carefully with an ah-so or professional wine opener.
Because this is a mature Bordeaux, decant gently only if needed to separate sediment. Avoid excessive aeration and allow the wine to develop gradually in the glass.
Food Pairing
Pair with filet mignon, ribeye, roasted lamb, duck, veal, braised short ribs, mushroom dishes, truffle preparations, aged Comté, and classic French cuisine.
Buyer Note
Because this is a mature collectible wine, buyers should review provenance, storage history, fill level, cork condition, capsule condition, label condition, bottle condition, color, and overall presentation before purchase.
